Sharon Parella concentrates her practice on representing employers, including domestic and foreign financial institutions, fintechs and emerging growth companies, in all aspects of employment law. She also represents individuals in various employment matters.
Ms. Parella’s practice includes discrimination, compensation and other employment claims before state and federal courts, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, fair employment practices agencies, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and other regulatory agencies, and in arbitrations and mediations. In addition, Ms. Parella regularly advises on significant restructurings and downsizings, discrimination, sexual harassment and workplace bullying claims and investigations, employment issues relating to mergers and acquisitions, and recruiting and performance improvement practices, and she provides training on these topics. She also drafts and negotiates employment and separation agreements, retention and consulting agreements, and employee handbooks and policies. She is a frequent lecturer and author on topics including investigating discrimination, sexual harassment, discrimination and workplace bullying claims, and innovative workplace practices.
